Cavs finals are in full swing around here so I knew I needed something special to mark the occasion. I didn't want the same old t-shirts that everyone else would be wearing so I decided to create unique outfits for the family. (except for my hubby since he wanted to wear his jersey!) It was perfect timing that The Scientific Seamstress blog was hosting a contest to sew for your hemisphere. It is the beginning of summer here in Ohio so I asked the kids what they wanted me to make and here is their decisions:
The girls each decided on the Maddie top from Sisboom. The older one wanted the sleeveless version while the younger one wanted the sleeves. My son decided on the Easy Fits from Scientific Seamstress. This was the first time that I had made the Maddie tops. It took a little bit longer for me to get the armholes just right. It would have helped if I had followed the directions and matched up the arrows! I'm an old pro at the Easy Fits by now and those come together so easily. I spent one whole afternoon making the three pieces while being interrupted by kids. Probably a quicker sew if you have no one around to bug you! These patterns also have adult versions so the whole family can match!
As you can see, they loved the outfits and are ready to help the Cavs win!
Here are the two Maddie's side by side. I love the way this top flows and covers my girls.
My son's Easy Fits. He could have a closet full of these by the end of summer as he is opposed to buttons!
I think this was a sewing success since the hubby gave his approval and let us accompany him to the watch party. My shorts are from a Jocole pattern, Wide Leg Pants with the shorts option.
Oh, all are so pretty. I also love using collegiate fabrics. 'Absolutely love the Maddie dress pattern. Now following your blog :)
